We focus on providing structured learning experiences which build your child’s confidence and socialisation while building their literacy, Maths, communication, creativity and physical development. Our nursery is run by experienced teachers in a safe, friendly and inclusive environment.
Children attending our nursery benefit from joint activities with Reception year children which helps them when they are ready to move up to the next stage.
All parents of children aged 3-4 years can access 15 or 30 hours of free early years education per week.
Our days are structured to give children stability, encourage development and provide a routine which will help them move confidently into Reception.

At Birley Spa Primary Academy, our curriculum is planned by a qualified teacher and adapted for the individual needs of our children. It is guided by the prime and specific areas of development. Each of these areas is reflected in our learning areas both inside and outside. Children have the opportunity to explore different learning areas independently or as part of a guided group with an adult.

| Communication and language | Literacy |
| Physical development | Mathematics |
| Personal, social and emotional development | Expressive arts and design |

We approach the seven Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) learning objectives with the understanding that your child may have areas where they need to be challenged or, alternatively, require additional support. To help each of our children achieve their goals, we observe and assess the children. This enables our staff to highlight key experiences and success, and identify clear targets for each individual.
All parents of children aged 3-4 years can access 15 or 30 hours of free childcare per week.
